Finished another bioactive and got a new baby
Hey guys!
This is my first post on here (hopefully I did it right) and I'm happy to see there is a great online community to get support and advice from all herpetoculturists out there!
Just wanted to post a couple pictures of my latest bioactive vivarium I created and my newest little one that I picked up at a show last weekend. She is in a separate tank for the next couple weeks to get acclimated, but I'll probably put her in the vivarium once the tank has time to mature and when I know she is comfortable.
I've had great success with these bioactive vivariums and will continue to make them for all of my future buddies!
Please always feel free to make comments and ask questions with anything I post!

welcome Spink! that's super neat! do u find that it's easier to keep humidity in a glass tank when it is bioactive?
also nice looking noodle. i'm not keen on Pinstripe, is it a Cinnamon Pinstripe?
Thank you!!
I won't say that it's easier to keep humidity, but I do think it's easier to regulate the relative humidity with a screen top on a bioactive vivarium.
She is a cinnamon pastel Mojave pinstripe. She just ate for the first time (under my care) about five minutes ago. I'm very proud of her!

Thanks!
Bioactive basically means that it contains living organisms (isobods, springtails, bacteria, etc.) within the substrate that help to clean and sustain the miniature ecosystem within the vivarium. They do a lot of the hard work for you, such as cleaning the feces, riding the bad bacteria, and eating fungi/mold.
I've made a lot of these and have seen amazing results! Also, in my opinion, they look pretty amazing if set up properly!
