    Bulb type/wattage
I have a cage being built and need some help on choosing the right heating bulb. The cage is 4ft long and 18” tall. The bulb will probably be in the area of 10-12” from the floor. I will have a cage over the bulb.

What type of bulb and wattage do you think will get me the right basking temp?

Someone will be here soon in sure .. in the meantime I'd do some googling of " ceramics in vivariums " or similar .

I'm sure I saw a very similar thread in here a few days ago .

    All I know is I have a Viv 5' long by 2' wide and 2'high .

I've got things running perfectly with a 250W ceramic ( it's a constant struggle to keep the humidity though ) . 250W have to be fitted with a ceramic bulb fitting / housing as they get so hot !

    I'm guessing you'll need a 200W or less tbh ..

A bulb in the enclosure? Why not get a rhp? So much safer.

A bulb with a guard on it will be fine and is more beneficial than other types of heat IMO
