Hot glue

Hey everyone. I'm currently using a hot glue gun to stick rocks on my bp's hides. They're actually just containers that are opaque and the perfect size, but sometimes she lifts them up or moves them around the cage due to their weight. I bought some small polished aquarium rocks to weigh it down, there's no risks with hot glue right? It cools (of course) and the package says nontoxic. I have been using hot glue (high temp, non-toxic) for years. I used it to fix my thermometer / hygrometer wires in place as well as modify his hot hide for a top down heat source. When he was still in a tank also used it to fix some fake plants to the walls (the suction cups just were not cutting it alone). Always kept him out until it was dry and cool and made extra sure not to leave the thin little strands everywhere

He's three now and going strong with no problems.

I use hot glue on EVERYTHING (including snake habitat stuff) as far as i know its totally harmless. But seriously, best stuff ever, beat duct tape by a mile in my opinion.:gj:

I think you'll be just fine :gj::gj:......knowing my snakes however, they would welcome the new decor by laying a steaming pile right on top of it as soon as I put it in the cage :rofl:.

I think you're alright too. Also, I used hot glue with the rack that i built because i was having a hard time keeping humidity up because i left just a little too much space between the tub and the top of each compartment. I just went around the edge of the tub with a line and it works like a charm!

Best part of hot-glue is that whilst it's extremely strong and durable it CAN be removed if and when needed ..

I have two that use different thicknesses of glue stick plus my current fave which is a portable rechargeable one . Extremely useful !!

Wow! Clever Idea! My BP loves his hides, and during his last shed, he moved them all over the place because they are so lightweight. Thanks for the idea!
