    Pre egg laying behaviour
    Hi all,

Im due my first ever clutch to be laid on the 17th March, the female is starting to become active, as this is my first clutch, I’m not too sure what the pre egg laying behaviour is.

The female in question has been sitting curled up on her hotspot since she ovulated on the 31/1/18, prelay shed was 15/2/18,

I’ve read that females become restless just before laying but I don’t know if that would be a week before or just a day or 2 before. She’s looking really plump and her spine is ridged up too,

    Thanks for your replies!

Depends on the female some will become restless some will simply lay in the same spot at all time barely changing position.

I have found that within a day or two of laying you may find her twisted up like a pretzel. It's as if they are trying to squeeze the eggs down like toothpaste into position for depositing. When/if you see that be ready soon. Congrats and good luck.
