    Tub Setup Questions
Hello all. I'm planning on moving my BP from a 20L glass tank into a tub. I thought I found one that looked pretty good. Sturdy and a good size. But when I brought it home I noticed there's a fairly large gap between the lid and the tub. I'm worried that it'll let out too much heat and humidity, thus defeating the purpose of moving to a tub.

Here's the tub with the gaps in the lid shown:

Is this too much of a gap?

My other question is about Reptile Basics UTH's vs heat tape. I was planning on attaching the heating element onto a surface, then placing the tub on top of it. According to the FAQ's the UTH does not go above 90F. My concern is that this won't be warm enough since I will not have it attached to the tub itself. Should I use heat tape instead? I'd have either one controlled with a thermostat. Also, the room I will have my BP in gets below 70 at times. I'm currently using a CHE to bring up the ambient temp of the tank, but I'm concerned about the tub. If one heating element isn't enough to keep the entire tub warm, would using two elements at the opposite ends of the tub ok? I'd have one set to 90 for the hot side, and on the cool side 80.

    Thanks in advance!

This post from rainbowsnakes shows how she made a secondary lid for the inside of one of her RUB enclosures: http://rainbowsnakes.tumblr.com/post...-1-of-a-really
This would probably work to solve your gap problem.
