sometimes when I am loading a forum page...
... it will take an extra-long time to load the page. Then when it does appear, all the letters are big and it is almost like a "bare bones" version of the forum, like, with no pics or anything but large letters on a white background. Then, I reload, and everything goes back to normal. can anyone explain this? Is it something with my ocnnection? (cable)

Might be your connection - I have nto run into anything liek that.

The closest I have come is when you click on the link to a thread and it seems to time out and you get nada - then refresh and it pulls up. Not too bad but every once in a while it will happen while posting I'll lose my content. I've noticed though when that happens the server load appears very high so multiple folks are probably posting at the same time.

    What browser are you using?

If you haven't already try cleaning out your temp internet files and cookies. Doing this through Internet explorer does not always delete all these files so you may want to look for them manually if it doesn't help the first time. Disk cleanup may get more of these files but doing it manually is your best bet. Also make sure you are using the latest version of your browser (I use Firefox with no issues) and keep windows updated. And of course regular defraging will keep you running smoother as well.

Might be a browser related issue. Browsers take the Html from the response from the HTTP protocol and render it into what you see. I don't think the slowness of the connection causes this problem. Are you using Internet Explorer?
