Went to western NY herp show...
It was pretty busy; it had to have at least tripled since I last went 2 years ago. I didn't buy anything alive, but there was an awesome Pastel male there for $500. Only one table had BPs at it at all. :( Lots of geckos; that must be the trend right now.
I didn't win anything at the raffle; but my friend bought a crapload of tickets and she won more stuff than I care to list! It was hysterical; I thought a bunch of beefy men in ExoTerra shirts were going to storm her truck and accuse us of rigging the drawings! I ended up makin' out by getting an awesome 20L tank with a tight fittin screen lid; she won it and I bought it from her dirt-cheap. I put Bela in there last night, and she spent the entire night exploring and rearranging!
I think that herp keepin has spread in this are in the last few years. The first time I went to this show, it was basically a bunch of in-home breeders selling several herps; this time, there were more pet stores involved. I really wish we had gotten a table; but then again, I will probably wait until 2 years from now, providing Bela has some nice eggs for me.
My friend bought a small vivarium and a neat dart frog from Aaron's Frog Farm.
    Herp shows are fun! Go.
