Flaky scales/scab on head?
Was wondering if I could get some input on this.
My bp has has always had some scales that constantly look like they are in blue on her head, but recently they started flaking off and in the main spot they are now dry and reddish brown, almost like a scab.

Sorry for the weird pic, my cropping thing was not working how I wanted. I can try and add another pic if you can't see clearly from this one.
Any idea what it could be? What comes to mind is a burn or scale rot (but from what I've seen it usually is on their belly) but I really don't know.
Thanks for any help.
Re: Flaky scales/scab on head?
that photo isn't the best but let me give it a go: looks like a good abrasion with some contusion. have you noticed any pushing behavior? has the snake escaped recently?
when you say "scales flaking off," are they actual little brown scales, or maybe some old skin? this could be a result of the injury.
either way: based on the image this looks to be a rubbing/escape injury. try to resolve how it happened and keep an eye on it. it should clear up by next shed.
Re: Flaky scales/scab on head?
Thanks for your reply.
I'll try and get some better ones today. She's very active at night climbing and such but I haven't noticed her really pushing. She noses the ceiling but she doesn't put a lot of effort into it. She hasn't escaped before.
Its just like she's shedding but its individual scales doing it around the spot on her head and the base of her skull/neck.
