Moist Towels for humidity
I have a glass/screen tank combo and I have a hard time with humidity. I've heard of using a moist towel to help with humidity in shed but can you use it for everyday use.

Mold/Mildew is a good reason not to.
Leave a damp towel laying around a couple of days and smell it. You dont want that kind of mung growing across the lid of your enclosure, trust me.
(ConTac "paper" works quite well)

Probably the best thing for you to do is cover part of the screen lid with plastic. Leave about a fourth of the screen open for ventilation. You can use a trash bag, that shrink window plastic, or something similer. I did this when I had one of my snakes in that type of enclosure, and it worked great. Good luck :)

I use the plastic wrap method. It works good; if you find that too much humidity is being retained, you can just lift a corner up and let some more air get in.

Well, I assumed it would be changed out before it started growing things.

I meant to imply no such thing, m'lady.
Once you start harvesting piles of damp towels from the kids' rooms (that they never seem to have the presence of mind to hang up) . . . ah the joy of 3 sons ;) I admit it has skewed my perspective hehe.
