    Very active little girl
Hey guys, I am a little concerned for my ball python, but I wanted to see what you guys think. I got her this Sunday, (this is being posted on a Tuesday). And she seems very healthy, hot side 92 degrees, cold side 80, humidity 50%. She is very active during the day, I just came home to her climbing around, and pressing herself against the glass. Some people would say she is trying to get out and find better cover, but, even thought my hides aren't identical, (yes, I can feel your frustration straingling me) she does still hide alot, and she will go back between hides, so I don't think she is preferring one over the other. She just went back to get warm hide to chill a bit more. So I don't think she is looking for better cover. The breeder told me to wait 4-5 days before I really start handling her and offering food, but hey, maybe she's a year hungry? Next time she is up and roaming, (which may be a while) should I offer a mouse?

No handling until 3 consecutive feedings. Did the seller say when the last feeding was?

Well 92 is a bit hot, it shouldn't be over 91. Did you black out the sides of your tank? Just get some poster board and tape it to the outside of the tank, make sure there isn't any tape on the inside. Nothing sticky should be in the enclosure. And you should give her a week, preferably two before handling and don't bother with that moving to feed junk.

The last feeding was Monday, a week ago.

I would try feeding but that's just me. Don't get discouraged if she doesn't eat because alot of bp's won't until they get more acquainted with their new surroundings

No harm in trying amirite? So when I warm up the most should I dangle in front of her? Like some, or just let it sit in there?

That depends on her. Does she hide from you or ignore your presence? If she's scared in any way, she won't eat

No she doesn't hide from me, she will still be roaming while I'm in the room, and as for my setup I have a 20L with a heat pad and a jumpstart on the right side. And a CHE to keep up temps on the left. I use eco Earth and hides in both sides with a water dish and a plant.

And your hides are nice and tight right? If they're too big your snake won't feel secure. I'd black out the sides too, like I mentioned earlier.
