When to move to adult tank?
Miss kitty is eating and growing well. So it got me thinking. Right now I’ve got her in a 41 qt sterilize tub. She’s about 4# now and seems to have plenty of room to grow a good bit more. But about what size should I move her into a bigger tub or tank. I’ll move her into her adult enclosure at te next step. I plan to build a 4’X2’x2’ enclosure at one point.

    Thanks for the input

I reckon you've already heard of this, but the general thumb rule is your snake's length should be roughly half (or less than half) of the enclosure's circumference. I would suggest moving her to a bigger enclosure once she surpasses half of her home's circumference.

Glad to see Miss Kitty is still lookin' all fly and doing great! Judging by her size in the photo I would say she will be just fine in a 41 qt. tub for at least a couple more years. She is a 2016, isn't she? All of my 2016's are still comfortably in my 28 qt. rack, actually, but my big 2015 Matrix girl has pretty much outgrown it and I expect most of the others will over the next year as well. So, I am getting ready to build another 41 qt. rack for all of them. I'm guessing they will probably outgrow 41 qt. tubs somewhere around the 5 year mark, maybe? At that point I will build individual 4' x 2' enclosures for all of them...

Whenever you want to. My snakes usually move straight into big cages and never had an issue, either way they barely go anywhere. My 2016 is smaller than that and in a 3 x 2 right now. She's absolutely gorgeous btw.

Thanks everyone. She is a 2016. She still had plenty of room, but I like to plan ahead a ways. Sounds like she should be comfortable in her current setup for a while longer. Though it’s looking like I need to upgrade her swimming pool.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...603d782c0b.jpg
When I first put her in there she could fully submerge herself in the same water bowl.
