    Snuggles' First Meal
Yay! On my very first attempt Snuggles gleefully struck and scarfed down a live mouse. I present to you Snuggles' very first meal. Some pictures...

Notice the new bulge in the now satisfied Snuggles...

He looks like he enjoyed dinner LOL. Isn't it great when they start off eating right off the bat! Makes like that much less stressful (even with the OCD of snake ownership).

I like the chaotic type pattern. Also what kinda substrate is that? It looks like calcium sand substate or sumthing.

Snuggles thanks you for the compliments. He has hiding for the past 3 days digesting his meal, and hopefully he will grace me with an appearance soon. Do you guys think the mouse I fed him was a bit much for him? I can't wait until after his next feeding when I'll start handling him.

The substrate is calcium sand. I love the way it looks but I'm afraid the upkeep might be a pain.

THe mouse seemed to suit him just fine.

The upkeep will not be a pain so much as it will be to the BP.

It will also leech humidity from the cage and make it far too arid for a BP - I would seriously consider an alternative.

We just switched all of ours over to aspen (tho they all start out on papertowels no matter what size they are). Bought the first bag from the pet store....big mistake! WalMart sells the same darn bag for 1/2 the price! accck

    Live and learn!
