    Remember this little guy....
Remember...at the beginning of the summer when I posted pics of the little lizard.....

Well...I ran across either him or one of his relatives today...and decided to catch him....he is now in the 10 gallon tank that I had set up for a baby beardie...The temps I have him at should be just right even though there is NO captive care info on Eastern Fence Lizards anywhere. I figured that I would hold on to him and see if I can get him to eat under my care. I will pic up some pinhead crix tomorrow and see if he takes them....If not it is back to the wild for this little guy.....but if he takes them...I might just have to hold onto him for a while....well here are some pics...

notice in the last pic the slight blue coloration under the chin and on the sides of the belly....it is most likely a male....they have some brilliant colors when breeding season rolls around :)

    Re: Remember this little guy....
I finally found a research journal article w/ a little care info.....get this...80-99 during the day....59-68 F at night....mean body temp of 91.4 F...that was from Eastern Fence Lizards in NJ. I am providing a thermal gradient from about 100 to 76 so I should be ok.....fence lizards must be very forgiving animals....they live everywhere. I will let you guys know how the attempted feeding goes tomorrow. also, the researcher successfully fed dusted crix to the animals in the study....so this guy should be a keeper :)
