    First Hognose! (Sex/morph?)
I have been dying for a hognose since I first seen them not too long ago. I finally found one locally that needed a new home. The previous owner took great care of him (which is a nice change of pace compared to the ball python I took in) and he's a sweetie.
He's a suspected male. Could anyone confirm this? I've counted the scales and it's in the male range. Also, morph? Looks normal to me, but I don't have an eye for morphs unless it's something obvious. No idea on his age, though, except he's young.

They named him Alfredo, which I think is adorable, so the name stays [emoji7]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0f633e120b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d12a6f172a.jpg

Handsome normal male. I love male hognose because they stay nice and small and sassy! :)

Are males generally more feisty? It's true currently for my young 1.1, but is it just a concidence?

Congrats and welcome to the wonderful world of hognose keeping!

Definitely looks like a normal male to me, but Deborah already cleared that up, and she's my go to for hognose info, hahaha.

I only have less than a year of keeping hognose, and only one animal for reference, but my boy, Cosmo, is a super sweetheart. Chill as can be. He'll hiss and fake strike his prey when I put it in with tongs, but is super chill when prey is not involved.
The only other time he hissed was my bad. I accidentally dropped his water bowl right next to his head. Was only from an inch or two, but scared the crap outta him and he hissed like crazy for a solid minute. I had to let him cool down before grabbing his bowl again, hahaha. Once I was sure he was ok it was actually comical to watch. So funny to see such a little guy try to be badass.

This little guy is like that too! Very laid back. He even ate a pinky for me with zero issues, right off the tongs. Such a fun little thing [emoji4]

Awesome!!! Cosmo still won't eat off tongs.
They certainly are fun little things.
