    Citrine
This is Citrine: my pastel ball python that I rescued a while ago. She was an easy rescue (thankfully) but I love sharing all of my rescue's stories

On May 28th I was browsing Craigslist because that's where people go to dump their pets and don't realize how unhealthy they are because they've given up caring for them. At this time I was searching for another ball python but I'd rather rescue than buy a snake that needs no help when other snakes are out there are struggling for their lives.

she was very dehydrated and severely under fed. I could tell she was dehydrated by the way she had so much stuck shed on her. I'm sure all that shed on her body is from multiple different sheds, maybe 2 or 3 due to under humidity.
She also had retained eye caps on both eyes.

We asked how long the person has had the python and they said 4months and that they got her when she was 1-2 months old. So this snake is 5-6 months old and is the size of a 1 month old.. deffinetly not good.

When we brought her home she was 93g! less than HALF of what she should be. ( - 3.3oz converts to 93g)

    2 days later..(3.7oz) 11g gained after a mouse meal..

A few more days, a few more grams!

Skip ahead 33 days, she's successfully packed on 40 more grams! (5.1oz)

It's a slow process with this girl but she gets healthier and happier every day! She's nearly up to speed with other pythons her age!

So proud of my strong girl <3 https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1bc3331e37.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...09fe20da74.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8c107fdecb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...875ab40088.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4bd64a9a78.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bfae30636e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9f6decd5f5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...daf5f49e7a.jpg

WOW. all i have to say...just, wow. congrats on getting her to turn around!

i rescued a ~4 year old Corn snake from a coworker's friend who decided they couldn't care for him anymore. he was 60g and SEVERELY underweight when i got him 11 months ago. now he's over 200g, has been upped in prey size 5 times, and eats like a friggin' pig!!! i never owned a colubrid before so it was an amazing change of pace.

here he is at day 1 and 11 months later:
