News paper vs paper towel
Do you guys know any difference in these two used as substrate? Like humidity, which holds heat better etc.
I have heard that bp can stain ink on them? Is this true? And is it dangerous?

Most people that use news paper use the unprinted paper. Yes, the ink can stain your BP especially if its like a BEL or light colired but will come off whn they shed. Paper towels are so flimsy that once theyre wet and soiled its not as easy to ball up and throw away but thats your choice. Neither is great with humidity but is usually used in racks where it isnt such a problem keeping it up like it is in an aquarium.

If you are concerned with ink then either use unprinted newspaper you can get just about anywhere or just use paper towels. The difference between the two is not even worth concerning yourself with.
If you are concerned about humidity, you might want to use something better than paper such as coco fiber or cypress mulch.
As for holding heat, the UTH and a good hide on top of it will do far more for heat than any substrate.
I guess humidity isn’t a issue but was just wondering. But heat wise, any big difference in news paper or paper towel? Like does one of them have better heat transfer kind of stuff?

No they both are equal when it comes to heat. They are less insulating than plant substrates and better insulating than nothing at all.
You use paper towels or newspaper for two reasons... temporary quarantine to provide a sanitized environment and/or ease of cleaning when needing to change out the entire substrate frequently. Outside of that there is really no benefit to paper products.
