What types of mice/rats should I get according to a BP's width?
For example, let's I have a BP with a width of 5 cm (just for example), and I wanted to feed it something with about the same width, but I don't know the size of any rodent just by knowing its name (hopper, pinky, etc).
I just want to know the width of the frozen mice/rats I can buy from Canadian PetSmart and/or RodentPro, such as the width for a pinky.
RodentPro only includes the length of the rodents, so I also want to know if I can just buy one based off of that.
I want to learn all I can before I get a BP!
Thanks so much :)

Im no expert at all but im pretty sure you should worry more about the weight of your feeder than the width. I think the width thing is more for safety. Im pretty sure a bp can eat feeders that are a little fatter than themselves. Im lucky enough to have a good family owned pet shop nearby that specializes in reptiles. I get to hand pick my feeders but i guess not everyone can do that. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b51f6d666b.jpg

Also please dont buy your ball python (or any animal) from your petco or petsmart. Your smart for doing your research first, youll be glad you did.

Sorry but a BP will never need anything larger than a medium rat even the biggest 4000 grams females, feeding anything larger is unnecessary will contribute to overfeeding, fast and very sluggish animal after feeding. Those are animals that have a very slow metabolism once they rich adulthood, and smaller weekly is better.
OP this is the chart you want to look at not the one previously posted.

Um, sorry if this is interrupting, but just wanted to drop this by, 5 cm = ~2 inches

Yep what Deborah shared is more accurate for size. I just disagree with the every 3-4 days. Thats a bit excessive imo.

According to all of the pinned care and basic knowledge question posts and millions of repeat threads, no. No one reads.
