    Looking to Upgrade Enclosure
Hey there, need some recommendations on a new forever home for my BP.....

I rushed into buying my 1st PVC enclosure at Repticon and while it's been great, I'm getting a little frustrated w/ the lack of depth it has (36 x 12 x 12). My hides are getting constantly pushed up near the glass which makes it hard to feed because theirs limited room to present the feeder.

I'm thinking about getting a AP cage which seems like it's the preferred choice by owners on here. Do you recommend going for the T8 or T10? I wasn't sure if the extra height would benefit a BP. And what about Glass vs Acrylic doors? I'm leaning towards Glass because my current Acrylic doors seem to scratch easily.

Also looking to add flexwatt (which I assume is comparable to the Ultratherm UTH i'm currently using), fluorescent lights, and a RHP (I think I heard Bob @ Proproducts will ship to AP).

both would be perfect, however with the T8 the lower height can make it a PITA to get in there and clean; that's my only complaint against the T8. i would choose glass over acrylic as well for aesthetic reasons.

yes Bob will drop-ship an RHP to AP for them to install.

either choice is a good one! it's up to you. :)

Thanks! This might be a silly question but do you think it's reasonable to get everything converted and dialed over to the new enclosure w/ having to buy another Herpstat2? I ask because it seemed to take me forever to get everything right on my 1st enclosure (but the again I was a beginner and had no idea what I was doing).

are you asking if you can dial in the new enclosure without taking the thermostat from the current one?

No, sorry for the confusion. I'd like to use my existing Herpstat on the new enclosure but wasn't sure if I could get all my temps dialed in a reasonable amount of time while my BP remained in the existing setup. Of course I would turn off the existing heat sources so as not to hurt my BP. Does that make sense?

the snake would be fine without heat for a bit. i'd let the new set-up run for at least a half hour without the thermostat, then plug the thermostat into it and dial everything in. let it run for another hour to make sure all temps are where they should be. your snake would only be without heat for 2.5 hours or so, which won't be a huge deal.

Great. This is exactly what I was looking for.
