    Goodbye Bonsai
Today we said a final goodbye to our sweet Bonsai. While we only had him in our family for a brief time, we loved him deeply. We buried him and said a prayer to thank God for having the pleasure of enjoying him for the time we did.

There will never be another first snake for us and I'm immeasurably heartbroken and sorry that I couldn't save him.

    We will miss you, Bonbon.

Recently lost my betta fish just a few days ago and also buried him, so this is hitting home. Losing a pet is always hard and gut wrenching no matter how big or small they are. The guilt is overwhelming, but remember you did everything you could. Even in his short time with you he was provided the best snake mom a little snake could ask for. You've made him a beautiful tomb stone!

So sorry for your loss, may he live on in your heart forever

It's the worst! Knowing that you'll never see them again... I'm very sorry about your beta. Whether they have feet, feathers, fins or scales, they're still family. Cyber hugs to you.

I was surprised to find a snake memorial stone on Etsy, I didn't know if it would be possible. She has a couple of designs.

    Rest In Peace, Bonsai. :(
I'm so sorry for your loss. I know that people say that all the time but I am truly very sorry. All animals will pass eventually, and I'm absolutely positive you gave him a wonderful life! Maybe Bonsai and my guinea pig Twix are playing beyond the rainbow bridge! I lost Twix about a year and a half ago, it was so hard. He passed in my arms, there was nothing I could do. It really sucked that people laughed at me for crying about my dead "gerbil". A pet is family! Same with a pretty little noodle like Bonsai. May he rest in peace, knowing you loved him ❤️ Again, beautiful stone/set up you've given him! We're all here for you :grouphug: You can always PM me if you need to talk :) My heart goes out to you in this hard time :( Go get an oreo blizzard and watch Mulan, that's what I did ;) It's okay to cry, remember that! I'm so sorry beans, he was a very lucky noodle to have a loving owner like you.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies
that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm
and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health
and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to slither from the group, flying over the green grass. You have been spotted, and when you and your
special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy tongue flicks rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your
life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

It's so comforting to have a place to grieve where people don't treat you like you're crazy.

    So sorry for your loss.

Just quickly looking at some of your posts, it sounds like you did your best. Keep your chin up and don't give up on the hobby/snakes/reptile family.

I put my Beardie, George, down in 2016. I had him almost 11 years and he ultimately got pancreatitis and was in pain when he ate.

    I cried like a baby.

We love our pets as family and it is always tough. Just remember, you did what you could for him, and have peace knowing that sometimes things are out of our control; we don't get to decide everything no matter how hard we try.

I know that doesn't make the pain go away, but I find solace in knowing what I can control and doing just that. That way I do not worry as much as about the things I cannot control.

Hang in there and again, very sorry for your loss.
