    Housing Snakes in Garage?
While this isn't a great question, I was wondering if it is possible to keep your snakes (and other reptiles) in your garage. What my question is how could you or would you do so? I have seen some people do it, but it required them converting their entire garage into a reptile room. My goal of doing this is because I have limited space inside, but a large area of my garage is near completely empty. Any advice is more than welcome.

Is your garage climate controlled? Nevada is all over the place temperature wise. If you live in Las Vegas then you are asking for extremes that are unhealthy for anything and if you live in Reno, it's pretty much the same but a lot colder. Not climate controlled means no you can't keep them in a garage in Nevada.

I know a guy who keeps some of his snakes in his garage, but they're in some sort of heat retaining tent-thing. I'm not really sure what it is or how it works. SDA has a point though. It isn't a good idea to keep them in the garage unless you can control the temperatures somehow. That might involve something like a heat tent, or if you want to use the whole garage you could insulate it and use a heater during the winter and a cooler during the summer. I've thought of doing something similar myself.

I've seen someone with one of those tents as well but can't find one.

I've been considering these little heating and cooling units for my dog house, would probably work great for a garage. It both heats and cools and keeps a constant temp. I've also seen them wall mounted. I found one on Amazon but I've seen cheaper ones:

Good idea but terrible reviews unfortunately.

A garage would need to be insulated to keep the cool or heat. Also a 8' rocked or drop ceiling would be needed, if its a old "A Frame" you wont be able to cool or heat it what so ever.

I've seen those tent things use for growing plants. Finding one big enough to contain snake enclosures would probably not be cheap.

I looked around and it is a grow tent, but like mentioned one of a large size would be very expensive.

If you want to cut down on construction and heating / cooling costs you can use something prefab like a big sauna, you can get big cheap broken saunas for little or nothing on Craig's List. Just install a space heater and maybe add some insulation. If you need to cool it a little portable AC on a thermostat would work well along with a space heater to heat and cool. Something like this would be easier than trying to heat or cool an entire garage or having to do some major construction:
