Picture Editing Issue?

Maybe I'm just really bad at this (which is likely), but I've tried everything I know how. I have posted pics to my gallery and into threads in the past no issue - tonight not so much.

I have two pics I was trying to upload, in the "my pictures file" on the computer they are right side up - when posted they are sideways. I've tried editing with gimp then re-uploading, resizing after editing with gimp, and editing in the "gallery upload" screen on the site. No matter what they are sideways.

I've also attempted to re-delete it twice, yet it is still in my gallery...sooo not sure what to do. I guess I can post sideways pics, but that kind of defeats the purpose. Anyone out there with good tech knowledge?

I submitted it three times in a row and the third fixed it...so whatever I got it right now ---and fixed itself in the top post, after vanishing??

really? the pix appears upside down to me... that is unless u live in Australia?
