    Safe Silicone?
    Hello!
Can anybody tell me if this silicone is safe for my ball python? I bought it for my hermit crabs but was wondering if I could use it with the BP and possibly the Bearded Dragons.

there should be a curing time somewhere on the label. as long as you allow it to cure for the proper amount of time and don't smell anything before having animals near it, it should be fine.

It says full cure is 24 hours. Awesome, thank you.

Ive used that and it was fine and now use DAP kitchen & bath brand (same thing diff brand) for all my thermometer probes and to close of the rest of the holes i drilled in the PVC for wires. I Love it. Hardly any smell. Not like that silicone i get from AP when I get new enclosures. Thats stuff stinks terrible and stays gummy imo. Every time i clean the enclosure the wetness makes it sticky and catches on the paper towel.

That stuff from AP is actually really good sealant. Is that Lexel? Best to use little and get it into the seam, rather than use a larger bead. It does not take much, and it is quite tough. Tougher than standard silicon.

I only use Lexel to seal the enclosurs, it's not good to fill holes or fasen things. When you add a lot to it becomes a gummy when you clean the cage. I suggest Dap to fasten things or to fill holes in PVC or or tack down wires, probes etc.. it dries as rubber where the Lexel reacts when used thick to cleaners like F10 and just becomes sticky.
