Blue Pearlescent head?

So my girlfriends normal BP has a blue pearlescent colour to the top of her head. When she's about to go in shed her whole body slightly does it in the right light but her head always has the glisten on it any reason why?

The opalescence when about to shed is just the old scales about to slough off. The slight pearlescent sheen like you describe may just be the Iridophores on a ball python that are prominent when they are well hydrated.
