Cleaning snake cage

hello,
I was wondering how I have to clean my ball pythons cage?
Do I clean it everyday? every week? every month?
I know basics, like changing bedding and stuff but what kind of solution is the best to clean the cage?
For my hedgehog, I use vinegar and water to clean but for snake I think it's different. I've seen someone mixing lysol and water. What solution do you guys use to clean the cage? to get rid of the smell and disinfect.
Cost efficient way would be the best! thank you.

All I do is spot-cleaning, removing all the urine and feces and soiled substrate every day. Then once every month, I dump all the substrate and newspapers and clean out the tub with mild soap and water.

Never use lysol to clean a reptile cage. There are reptile safe cleaners you can get at pet stores, F10 products you can get online, or you could even use vinegar and water.

You should not need to, with the exception of having a quarantine cage, have to completely break down the cage and clean except maybe every 6 months. So long as you do not have harmful conditions that breed infection, all you need to do is spot clean to remove waste and substrate around waste and liquid. Either spot clean and scrub decor with cleaning products safe for enclosures or remove them and clean them with soap and water.

Yeah, I agree somewhat, once/month like I do is more than enough, but every 6 months seems a bit extreme. I suppose if your spot-cleaning is very thoroughly done, then it is true that you don’t need frequent completely breakdown.

Also, eco-earth substrate states that it is great for bio activity and waste breakdown, so this would help reduce the frequency of total cleanings needed

Yeah, I spot clean as soon as they defecate or urinate so there really is no reason for a complete breakdown of the cage. I have a toothbrush and f10 to spot clean decor that gets tagged. I'm pretty fastidious about keeping things clean and dry so there is no reason to break everything down. I just add substrate as needed and remove the entire section that was pooped and peed on. If you practice good house keeping there is no way you are going to grow harmful stuff in the cage ;)

My GTP on the other hand gets new paper towels and a tub cleaning ever 3 days as I am quarantining so that is a different story.

I use a 1:1 vinegar water mix in a spray bottle, when I go in for a full cleaning. Pull everything out, spray it down, wipe with paper towel or scrub if needed. Things inside go into a waiting full sink of warm water and a bit of dish soap and get scrubbed down while the enclosure air dries. I generally cycle out substrate completely once a month, to be on the safe side.

so vinegar water 1:1 solution is perfect for spot cleaning and stuff right?
