How much do butters typically fade?
I absolutely looooove Butters - I like the combinations of soft but bright tans that they have. I'm looking to get a very young one from Morph Market, and the main reason I love the ones I've seen so much is because of their bright colors.

Like this one (Sold now, but still in my wishlist xD): https://www.morphmarket.com/us/c/rep...-pythons/96066

The colors are so bright but i hear a lot about BP's colors fading/browning with age. Anyone have adult butters they could post sort of before/afer baby -> adult pics? Or tell me in general about how much I should expect them to fade?

If they fade to dull browns and grays and lose those bright colors I think I'm going to go for a different morph lol. Maybe a BEL lol

I couldn’t look at the one you posted because it is sold but I know what butters look like. From what I’ve seen, they don’t brown out like a typical pastel but the colors seem to get a little faded or less intense with age. IMO they remain beautiful but they definitely look better as hatchlings. If you want a snake that looks just as intense and bright as an adult as they did as a hatchling you should look into combos with desert ghost. It’s going to be more expensive but if you are happy with how your snake looks as an adult, it’s well worth the price because they are adults far longer than they are hatchlings.

Here are two pictures of the same male. The first he is a juvenile and the second he 3 years old. He is het for ghost which makes him a little lighter but still you can see how much he has faded over the years.

Oh wow lol, that's a lot of fade! Super helpful to see the baby -> adult transition. He's still beautiful though!! I'm more worried about fading to gray but transitions between one shade of gold to another is totally fine with me lol. Thank you!

This is my butter pin as a tiny baby, his name is Pauly D
    https://ball-pythons.net/forums/cach...DYjUgi7lZe.jpg

Here he is as a young adult, you can see how how his rich yellows have faded into soft cremes:

I also have a lesser girl (lesser and butter are the same), I'll try to remember to get a recent photo of her this weekend and add those.

Here is a big lesser and a pastel lesser. Not the best pictures but you can see how the colors dont look as smooth as the scales get bigger and more defined. Pastel keep their nice green eyes. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fb39f032cf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e79c637ead.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bb2d8a82c7.jpg
