How do you know it works great? Are you checking for accuracy with a secondary thermometer. It might be off by quite a bit and you would never know. Even my fairly advanced one, I take a couple shots at different distances. And check for accuracy using a second source. no, I am not obsessive at all, what do you mean? :P:rofl:

i'm just as obsessive. ;) all my enclosures (including individual tubs in my rack) have one stand-alone AcuRite thermo/hydrometer, one AcuRite probed thermo/hydrometer for hotspot with display thermo/hygrometer, and i try to check floor temps with the temp gun every other day and at minimum once a week. i compare all readings and use my Herpstats as a gauge for accuracy. i find my temp gun to be more reliable than my AcuRite meters as they can be a couple degrees off.

Typical plumber I swear wanting everything to be calibrated to the nearest fraction of a degree.
I have more thermometers than a hospital's proctology clinic and so long as they all say the same thing, that works for me even if off by a fraction of a degree kelvin of absolute zero in a vacuum. None of my snakes are dead yet.
You two are so weird :P
