Proof room-humidifiers work...
I've never had a snake have a difficult shed ever, never, never. I focus on keeping humidity levels up, since that is one of the first things I learned about keeping ball pythons. Recently, I started using newspaper, instead of cypress mulch to keep things less messy. To make up for the loss of humidity, that resulted from the loss of cypress mulch, I started using a room humidifier. (also, it is great for the humans in the house for wintertime!). Well, since my humidifier broke down, Chuck the youngling had his second shed ever, and it was a dry one! Stuck to him badly. I finally got it off, by putting wet paper towels in his hide and spraying him. He also rolled around in his water bowl to get it off. (cute!)
Anyway, until I get a humidifier, I wet down some cypress mulch and re-mulched all the tubs. With the wet mulch, the tub humidity is back up, of course room humidity still sucks, I am getting a new one tomorrow. I will keep using a humidifier until winter is over. I will probably keep using cypress or coconut mulch, with the newspaper underneath it. My newspaper experiment was not that great. I like the humidity and the odor retention of the mulch.
and one last thing...HUMIDIFIERS WORK! Don't listen to youtube gurus that tell you humidity isn't important, or that running a room humidifier is useless. I notice a huge difference in my home humidity when I use one, and it helps me sleep at night as my sinuses don't dry out! (I use a heat-evaporation model, as they seem the most powerful of all the types out there.)

Middle of winter, cold snap, heating season, but snakes are nice and comfy as there is water in the air. [emoji4]
