    Saggy Ball Python
So I got a baby ball python (about 5 months old) back in the beginning of October. I have an appropriately sized tank with the right equipment, temperature, humidity, etc. However, He hasn't eaten since I got him. I've tried feeding him almost every week and he checks the mouse out but doesn't eat it. He hasn't lost a significant amount of weight, but his skin feels really loose and saggy. He almost looks like he's getting skinnier. Is he losing weight because he hasn't eaten or could he be dehydrated, or is it something else entirely?

Could you give us exact measurement on humidity, cool and hot side temperatures, hot spot surface temperature? A picture of your setup would also help. What are you using as a heat source, and is it attached to a thermostat?

I'm also in agreement seeing a picture of your set up will allow us you help you better. Another thing that could be contributing to his food refusal is how are you preparing/offering his food? Are you feeding f/t?

If feeding f/t it helps to make sure the mouse is not only thoroughly thawed but warmed with either a CHE or blowdryer to make the mouse's body hot, especially the face for an attractive heat signature. To give you an idea a mouse/rat's natural body temperature is roughly 100F.

Other potential causes I'm thinking, aside from husbandry is how often are you handling him? Did you give him a proper acclimation period?

Loose and saggy skin sounds kinda like it may be dehydrated

As already suggested a photo or two will be extremely useful for everyone to help

When I had my collection, it took me almost 8 months to get all but 3 to eat f/t after eating live for over a year or more. If your lil guy was eating live, continue to offer live. Then after a few feedings, feed live then while still in hunt mode offer f/t. As for husbandry, let the members offer you advice. I just know what worked for me.
