    Wooden enclosure yes or no
Ok so I've been thinking hard on building a wood enclosure to everyone out there is it worth it? Safe? Any advice from ppl who have successfully kept snakes in them. Also paint? Inside/out thanks for help or insight

I'm building a wooden enclosure right now 4 by 2 feet with plywood with glass sliding doors on the front. They are perfectly fine for snakes but just be smart. Make sure the ventilation is good along with a safe heat source that the wood will withstand. Most important thing to me is using polyurethane or something like it to water proof the inside of the enclosure to ensure that water sprays, dish, feces, and normal heat and humidity won't rot or warp the wood

People have used wood enclosures for years so clearly they certainly work for snakes and other reptiles, but now, with the advent of available plastics...why wouldn't you just go to a plastic setup? It's lighter and far more water resistant. People used wood previously because that was what we had: wood and glass.
