Long distance move coming up
Hello everyone. Unfortunately, due to circumstances, I will have to move from south Cali to Washington which is about 18 hour drive which I will probably cut that into a day or two to get to my destination.
I have two questions:
1. I only have 1 Ball python. How would I transport her?
2. Any precaution or preparations I should know about?
Re: Long distance move coming up
Put snake in pillow case/snake bag, secure tightly, place in well padded box not much larger than the snake. I keep a thermometer probe in the box to keep an eye on temps. Don't leave in direct sun.
If it's a two day drive give it a temporary tub/enclosure when you stop for the night to drink some water and such. Place back in the bag, secure, put it back in its box and finish the drive. Basically you're just packing your animal as though you were shipping it. There's a few good threads on the subject on here if you search for them

Hi there!
I'm a military spouse that has moved multiple reptiles across the country many, many times. (And never lost a single one in transport!) Here's an article I wrote about it awhile ago. If you read through it, it should give you all the answers you need and may answer some questions you hadn't thought of as well. If you read through it and have more specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them!

Good luck!!
