You might make the holes a bit bigger but that should be enough holes, just a bit bigger, or add a few more. I've been meaning to look into how to build my own tank, I'm just not very intelligent when it comes to construction or carpentry or whatever this would be considered ass

Having air holes localized in one spot vs distributed over the entire cage will give equal amounts of air exchange. I will agree distributing them over a wider area is very beneficial to prevent any areas of stagnation within your cage. Your cage looks pretty rugged and I will definitely say the top is sealed. Do you have enough holes? I would say yes.

It's difficult to tell but it looks like you used particle board in your construction. If that is the case, you should be careful to seal any cuts, including the holes you drilled, to minimize swelling from the humid BP environment.
