    Sst python eye problem help?
Hey all, when I bought her a few months back she was seriously blue so couldn't see her eyes. Since then she has shed twice and her eyes still have a weird black sploge in them, when I shine a light in them I can see the pupil reacting behind the black bits. Both eyes are the same. Just curious as to what it might be, she feeds great and doesn't seem uncomfortable or inflamed at all, guessing it's an old injury or something genetic? Maybe she burnt her eyes or something?
    What you think?

Weird! I am curious to hear what others say. Does she eat okay?

I am no expert and I would guess an injury caused it but strange they are both the same.

Yeah, she is greedy, she reacts to light so has some vision. I did find some pics of other st pythons that have it?
Maybe it's some sort of pigment for camo?

    Justin,

It looks like the spot of cloudiness may be related to the dent in her spectacle. This is something that very well may resolve over time & additional sheds. On a couple of rare occasions, I have seen instances of entire spectacle cloudiness in bloods/STPs that resulted from a bacterial issue, but that involved the entire eye and doesn't appear to be the case here.

The black coloration in her iris isn't outside of the realm of normal for this species, and isn't a concern.

    Hope this helps!
