Scratch/healing.

I’m just curious how long it usually takes a snake to heal? It’s a small spot on his head from scratching it on his hide. It’s been about a month or so since it happened and it hasn’t really gotten any better. I’ve put antibiotic cream on it, will it change when he sheds?

You'll see the biggest changes after each shed, yes.

Other that that, make sure you're using just plain old generic antibiotic cream - none of the stuff with pain relief or anything like that.

Okay that’s what I figured and I used the generic antibiotic cream.

Are you sure that's from his hide? I recently bought an Albino female that has the same exact spot on her head. I thought maybe it was from a live feeding but I wasn't sure.

It’s the only thing I could think of I don’t feed live and there’s nothing really in the enclosure that could cause it, except the hide.

Try alternating the antibiotic ointment with a wipe down of the area with a diluted betadine solution on a gauze pad or chlorhexidine diluted same way. They both are antiseptic which will help with other bacterial organisms. Keep the python well fed with plenty of fresh water.
