Housing BP's next to each other
I finally bought my second snake today and just finished setting up its tub next to my other BP. I have both tubs side by side right now on a shelf and I'm wondering if having them visible to each other is something I should avoid? Or is it no big deal? I'm going to eventually replace both tubs with a T8's, but for now, I would like to keep them in the tubs. Still new to all this so any advice would be appreciated :)
Re: Housing BP's next to each other
Hmm, I'm not too sure on that myself. I've never heard anything about them not liking being able to see each other (though certainly possible), only that it's generally not good to actually house them together in one setup. Not positive on this though so don't take my word for it.
What I really wanted to say though, be careful putting a new snake so close (even in the same room) as one you already have. It's always a goo idea to quarantine new snakes in case they have something contagious to other snakes, commonly mites but IBD is a big concern though rarer I believe. It might sound extreme, but it's good to keep them quarantined for 2-3 months or so in a different room to make sure they are completely healthy before exposing them to your other snake(s).
Congrats on your new addition btw!

Do you keep them in clear tubs? Just wondering if them seeing each other is an issue or not. Different from the above user who had them side by side but with a solid divider that would block any view.

Never an issue here with clear view into each cage.

It seems they like to look at each other. One time Ragnarok crawled out of the tub all over the rack, and all the other snakes came to look at him and check him out. They were not upset either, just curious.
Re: Housing BP's next to each other
When we brought our BP home last week, we put him in a tank right next to the leopard gecko’s without thinking about.
Turns out the gecko was not thrilled with his new neighbor and gave him the stink eye until we put up something to block the sight lines.
