    warms my heart..
I love getting feedback from people that have gotten some of my hatchlings.
They are so in love with them.

One girl got 4 of my snakes (free), an adult and 3 hatchlings. She is an enthusiastic young keeper and the kind of home I wanted them to be in.
She just let me know how well they are doing. Eating well, growing quick, shedding and so tolerant of handling. She is in love with them.

To me that makes all the difference. There was no profit, but the "feel good" is worth their weight in gold :)

wonderful to hear, zina. i hope to achieve that feeling some day. breeding will never be profit-driven for me, and i hope i can have that same impact on young herpers that you have. what you've done is truly what it's all about.

    thank you for sharing. [emoji4]

Its a strange story how I got into snakes. I used to be TERRIFIED of them and had less then a nice opinion of them. (sorry, sorry, sorry..)

Yet, getting into snakes, it really had a positive impact in my life.

If I can give that kind of impact to some other people for whom it makes such a positive difference, I gladly do so. Their excitement and happiness makes my Day :)

even when people ask me dumb, folklore-level questions about snakes i get all happy and excited thinking i can change a mind today. i was never that kid chasing garters in the backyard, but the first time i held a snake (i was 21) was literally life-changing.

herpetology has been nothing but a positive hobby for me (but not the wallet!!!) with amazing people like you in it. we truly are a special breed here.

thank you for having a positive impact in our world and the snakes in it. [emoji4]

The reptile community truly is a WONDERFUL one. I have met such incredibly nice and caring people in this community (such as you).

And this webpage and these forums are a safe, helpful and wonderful place to meet. Just the nicest people on here. I always tell everyone about this forum, for the information, help and acceptance they will find.

Everyone that gets babies from me, will leave my house with a link to ball-pythons.net. :)

I used to be like you Zina, terrified of not only snakes but spiders too. But I worked on my fears and educated myself on varies types of snakes and learned that they are not "scary" as you think. My colleagues at work say "I'm crazy" or "insane" but those are the kind of people that need the educating on these wonderful creatures. I find that having my collection of snakes helps me destress at the end of my day, as well as brings a smile to my face!

As for the spiders (Tarantula's in general), I over came my fears, but keeping them as pets was just boring to me. Guess I much more prefer the interaction, excitement and beauty of snakes.

I'm still terrified of spiders, LOL !! I thought about getting over it by buying a tarantula, but I just get can't myself to do it..

I agree, snakes are wonderful for de-stressing. They are beautiful, its like taking care of living art :)

Awesome story, Zina!! This BP.net community is such a great group and it's a pleasure to have "met" some great people, such as yourself, through this community. I catch myself sharing BP.net stories with friends, family and co-workers all the time. And whenever somebody talks about keeping snakes or being interested in learning more about them I always direct them here.

Thanks for sharing your love for these amazing animals with this community as well as the lucky young herper who got to add your animals to her family :)
