    ID on Boa
    Hello All,

I'm a long time stalker of this site, but wanted your help in identifying this type of boa.

I'm a Ball Python guy, but recently took in a boa because it seems the previous owner didn't really know any husbandry of the snake. The day I got her, he handed me an ice cold snake. Said she was a bit cold because his window was open. Regardless, I have her now.

I can Google for days, but without knowing much about the species, I don't know what to even search for. Looking through millions of photos doesn't help either.

She is about 54inches and has a few bruises on her body. I gave her a F/T large rat last week, so she at least was hungry, which is positive. Thanks again for the help.

The pics are too small to really see anything.

Common boa imperator, looks like it's in shed so make sure it's well hydrated and keep its humidity up. Usually when they're neglected they also get dehydrated.

At least it's in decent weight, they should be square like that and not round/plump like a ball python. One rat a month like the one you fed should be fine as a feeding regimen.

    Thanks for the info.

She had a warm soak when I got home and have her nice and warm now. She is about to shed so have the humidity bumped up a bit in her enclosure.

Lol BCR beat me to it. Like she said, it looks like a common boa. Kind of like that long bare back area with the single saddle.
