A little help?
I know its not right to hide stuff from our land lords and what not, but our house is being inspected tomorrow and i need a good way to hide my snake for a few hours. he is in a tank set up so its not like i can just stick the tub under something or in the closet, but i only have to worry abut the animal and not the tank. none of the drawers in my house are closed off so i cant put him there either. hes about 3 or 4 feet long; any ideas?
(note: i know that this isnt the best and most honest way to do things but its just a temporary thing. my snake and i will be out of the house by February. this is a one time deal so please dont attack me and try and tell me about how wrong i am for doing this.)
Thanks a bunch!

Storage tote under the bed for the snake, you can use a heat pack(like people ship with) for a temp heat source. Put some actual things in it for the snake to hide in and so it looks like actual storage, snake safe of course. Pillow case in the laundry, also sneaky. Hoodie pockets could also work for juveniles and I would stash cage in the car if you have one.
Good luck.

Not sure how big the caging is but maybe drag it over to a buddy's place for the day while you are getting inspected?
And honestly if i was a landlord and i saw an empty cage that was set up for an animal, my first thoughts would be he/she is hiding the animal somewhere until im gone. Most people dont have cages laying around with water bowls, t-stats, substrate, hides etc in them.

Re: A little help?
Take him to the park! ;) But honestly, if it's only for a few hours, you could stash him in something like a shoebox. Just be sure he has something to hide under and he'll likely sleep the entire time. Just make sure you leave air-holes in whatever container you choose, of course.

Re: A little help?
I would get a small animal carrying case, or a tupperware that latches really well, and keep this on hand in case you ever need to stash your snake somewhere other than their tank (I'm thinking vet trips, emergencies, etc.) Whatever you decide to put him in, make sure it has air holes that he can't possibly get stuck in, and make sure it latches really REALLY well. If all you have is a shoe box or something like that, put rubber bands over it so there's no way he can sneak out. A pillowcase with the ends tied off is another option. Use those hand warmers, or even a bottle of hot water to keep him warm (use CAUTION because hand-warmers often get too hot for a ball python!!) The easiest solution, though, would probably be to leave your snake and the entire tank at a friend's house until your inspection is over.
Good luck!
