    Best bedding for holding humidity for ball python
    Any ideas for best bedding to hold humidity that I could buy from petco my heat lamp is drying out cage to fast

    cypress mulch works for me. Just mist it down when it dries out. Also a screen top cage is terrible for holding humidity, you will find it better to use the "wet towel" method and cover ¾ of the screen with a wet towel, as it will trap the humidity.

    I have the cypress mulch and I have to constantly spray down the cage thanks for the advise gonna try out that towel method worried about when I habe to leave house will drop to low I had cling wrap over it before wasn't working

    Hands down....Reptile Prime coco husk. You can find it at reptileprime.com - it hold humidity very well, is easy to spot clean, and your snakes will be able to burrow in it too.

    Reptile Prime even waters your lawn, does the dishes, and tells you a bed time story!

    Not only does it hold humidity well it eliminates odors really well. I have fully switched to it and will not get anything else no matter what snake I get next.

    I use Reptile Prime whenever I can get it. If not just plain newspaper works just fine with a damp washcloth or some moss for humidity.

    After reading around, I found that a lot of blogs, breeders, and experts recommend cypress mulch, coconut husk (preferably filtered to make it finer), or orchid bark.
