Anyone Have Any Experience With White Lipped Pythons?
So in my search for my next snake I've pretty much narrowed it down to a White Lipped Python, another Carpet, and a Rainbow Boa. I can't find much on White Lips and I was wondering if anyone here had kept any. From my understanding the southern locality gets larger than the northern one. Are they semi arboreal? Should I provide it things to climb? And where could I get one? Outback Reptiles always seems to have a couple at the shows I've been to but I've heard mixed thing about them

Contact Rich at Reptile Rapture, Monona WI, pretty sure he breeds white-lipped pythons. I think they are more arboreal.

The one we handled was a snappy little baby, none of the employees would have anything to do with her, even Rich was pretty respectful (given her small size), then she was nice and polite for my husband.

I've read that one of the localities tends to be more nippy than the other, but for the life of me I can't remember which is which.

a breeder/vendor from another table came over and bought this feisty female.

they were from an Idaho based breeder - Molecular Reptile. here: http://www.molecularreptile.com/Both_Leio.html#black i recall that they breed small batches. anyway they could probably help u out.

i think the breeder that bought the female was one of the staffers from Inland Reptiles from Spokane, WA. Nick Mutton and Inland Reptiles specializes in Carpets (pure lineage) and other arboreal snakes.

Edit: also here are two forumers and their pix thread for their WLP's. they haven't been very active tho. WLP's are beautiful!

I just wanted to say they're semi-arboreal and active with climbing, sort of like how carpets are, so it's best to provide them with a large enclosure and branches.

I really wanted one at one point and researched quite a bit, even though I don't have one LOL.

Did you ever get to contacting DM Exotics about their new docile locality?

I can tell you that the northern Locality ( Gold phase are very defensive and rarely grow out of it. The southern ( black phase are awesome super docile animals but HARD to find I’ve been looking for a long time. I can only answer behavior questions nothing about breeding sadly.

Well that's good to know, honestly I prefer the southern locality
