Reheating F/T?

So i was talking to a friend who owns boas not beeps and got some contradictory information. He said I should never reheat a rodent. To be clear I'm not talking about warming refreezing and warming again. I'm talking about warming a rat to try and feed and it lost temp so i warm it again for a second offer.

I've done that, like 20 minutes later after one of my boys refused to take it the first time, last night actually, I think it's fine if it's within an hour or so.

I’m pretty sure it would be impossible for bacteria to build up to dangerous levels within those few minutes...[emoji23]

Yeah he does tend to blow a lot of smoke out his rear end but I like to have proper advice when it comes to my babies. (They're all too old to be babies but they're my babies)

Most people leave the rodent in the warm cage because their Bp is shy about eating so I would imagine if harmful bacteria doesn't form in that time then reheating should be fine.

I do it sometimes when mine is being persnickety. So long as your don't wait hours to reheat I fail to see any issue. If you want to go by USDA guidelines, you have 3 hours of leaving food out before it becomes potentially contaminated. Then again a cold blooded species doesn't really have the delicate digestive system we do.

The bacteria thing may be true but people don’t give snakes enough credit, their digestive system is very strong. I’ve reheated many many times and even refroze and fed at a later time. I rarely need to refreeze because I have many piggies that will take leftovers but through the years I’ve done it with no issues. I wouldn’t feel comfortable going more than one refreeze but you probably could, they eat half rotted dead animals in the wild if they are hungry enough. I’m not recommending to feed your snake rotting food but my point is, their digestive systems can handle a lot more than most think.

I never refreeze. If the snakes don't eat it the neighbor's chickens will. Just wanted to make sure i wasn't doing anything wrong.
