Both of my snakes are acting very strange...
So I have 2 male and female ball pythons, and they're both juviniles. This morning I went to say hello and good morning and give them little pets but my girl, who is normally as sweet as can be, struck at me and was super upset. My male was also visibly agitated as well. Any tips as to what's going on? They're a few days due to eat so I don't think they're hungry.

It could be "that time", but I could be wrong since I don't breed so I don't really keep up with the schedules. If it is, it could lead to them being grumpy cause they want a little somethin' somethin' you know? Are they housed close to each other where the female could be throwing out pheromones hat the male can pick up on?

Are they going into shed? Were they all aggresive or was it just the female? Maybe shes just in a bad mood or you startled her?
Re: Both of my snakes are acting very strange...
It could be they are just hungry or going into shed, I know my girl gets very aggitated when it's shedding time! And until mine are about 300 grams or so I feed them every five days sense they are still so small and use a lot of the food to grow so they may be hungry.
I don't think ball pythons react in such a way around breeding time, I have no personal experience myself but from what I've read the only real breeding season behavior they display is boys will fast and move around more and females will display different behavior when they ovulate but yours would be much to young for that.

They're babies. That's basically what young, juvenile ball pythons do. No worries bc with proper husbandry and feeding that behavior subsides. Just remember also these are captive animals with wild instincts that is more pronounced in the youngsters as opposed to the older established adults.

I wasn't aware of how old they are, but it looks like everything is alright. I wouldn't be too worried, they'll become more tame as they get older, this kind of stuff just happens sometimes
