    Raising Ambient Temps?
My BP is in an exo terra faunarium at the moment, and I'm struggling to keep his ambient temps up. For now I've been leaving the house heating on, but that's not a permanent solution. Once he gets moved to his next tank I can buy him a light or something (I'm thinking a ceramic heat emitter), but I'm not sure what I can do until then.

I have 0 experience with faunariums, but have received plenty of advice to insulate my glass Exo-terra terrarium. So perhaps some sort of insulation. I'm sure someone more experienced will chime in. I'll assume you have a heat mat on a thermostat?

EDIT: if you're curious about the CHE, worked perfectly for raising the ambient temps in my glass terrarium.

Any advice with what to insulate with? And yes, I do have one :P

I cannot list anything off of the top of my head, but here is my thread that I believe provided a few examples. Keep in mind, though, that you are using a faunarium and not a terrarium:

I would also search the forums for some more advice on insulation, I'm nowhere near an expert. Also wait for some more people to chime in, as I'm not quite sure.

I solved this problem by buying an ultra-efficient electric infrared space heater, like this:
    https://www.lowes.com/pd/Duraflame-5200-BTU-Infrared-Quartz-Cabinet-Electric-Space-Heater-with-Thermostat/999918322
I aim it at the snake enclosures and monitor the ambient temperatures of the rack with my infrared temp gun and then adjusts the space heater's thermostat to reach desired temps around the enclosure. It is much more efficient than running your entire home heating system to reach desired temps.
