I wonder if someone can offer suggestions as to what options are good for bedding. I live in Ontario, Canada and cypress mulch is simply not available , I've looked in pet stores, garden centers, and everywhere else I can think of. I'm wondering about bark nuggets as an alternative. The pet stores offer things like compressed paper for rodents, is this something that might be suitable for b.p. as well? If anybody has suggestions, please let me know.

Coconut fiber. Eco Earth is the most common brand name by the company ZooMed.

Bark is horrendous for ball pythons so avoid anything that is bark if it is not cypress mulch.

Amazon Canada sells both eco earth and forest floor

Thank you SDA, I didn't know about the bark nuggets. I appreciate you suggestions. :-)

I also use EcoEarth coconut fiber. I buy the ones in bricks, and add just enough water to break it all up. It holds the humidity really well, especially at first, but my CHE dries it out rather quickly (I'm also in a less-than-ideal glass tank). I will be experimenting with a layer of coarser coconut husk on top to see if it helps prevent it from drying out as fast. I like how soft the coconut fiber is, because it seems more like dirt. I didn't like how pointy the cypress mulch seemed to be when I first tried it.
