    5 Day Feeding?
So, y’all are suggesting I should feed him 5 days he ate last Thursday so today I have to feed him, right?

5 days to a week. If you intend on feeding him every 5 days, then yes, today would be your day to feed him.

When did you take the snake home with you? You want to start counting the fives day from there.

With as skinny as he is, definitely every 5 days.

You can try offering today but you just may waste a feeder. But there's no harm waiting until next week/five days since he's been with you. If you're feeding f/t make sure it's thawed properly and warmed. A mouse/rat's living temperature is about 98 - 100F degrees, so if you have a hair dryer handy, or even using your CHE, I'd warm the feeder after it's thawed so it has a nice heat signature.

If your buddy isn't interested, you can leave the feeder overnight. Some ball pythons are super shy and won't eat if you're watching or even in the same room. My beep Tapioca is like this, I have to cover the glass side of his cage with either a black board or blanket so he's in complete darkness and leave the room for him to eat. But he definitely always eats.

Just make sure if the mouse/rat is still there by morning, toss it out!

I got him Saturday. But he was feed on Thursday at Petsmart. So I should try feeding him, right?

You also have to give the snake time to settle into his new home. You can try feeding now, but like MissterDog said, he may not take it.

Funny thing is feeding schedules are for you benefit as well as your snakes' benefit.

It wont hurt if they are on a 1 week schedule and that way it also helps you to remember that one day out of the week is feeding time.

I would just focus on the basics and just get the animal acclimated and eating. The snake isn't so skinny it needs to be fed every five days. Feeding an appropriately sized meal every 7 days will be perfectly fine.

Actually I take back the 5 day feeding and I'm going to agree with Craig for weekly. Especially since you just fed Axel a medium mouse, which may have been on the larger side of meals depending how much it weighed (did it list on the package? Not sure how Petsmart categorizes) and how much Axel weighs.

I just got so used to Petsmart bps being super skinny and on second glance, Axel isn't looking too bad.
