    Clearing This Out.
I just what to say this and hopefully someone can help.

I have a Ceramic Heat Emitter and a Heat Mat.

    Do I need 1 or 2 Thermostats???

I am really new to this and would like a straight up answer.

    Thank you.

Some thermostats such as the Herpstat 2 have two outputs you can hook both your CHE and UTH to. Models with only one port you will have to get two thermostats.

Every heat source needs to be regulated. Uth get a thermostat and Che either get dimmers or a thermostat. I use a dimmer or rheostat for. My Che and a thermostat for my uth.

Thank you and one more question.

Do/can I put the CHE over UTH or does it HAVE to be on the other side.
Of course the UTH is UNDER the tank, just to add that information.
    Thank you.
