    Reptile and rodent room
    Hello everyone,

I am looking for some suggestions on a reptile/rodent room. I should be closing on my house in the next few weeks and it has a 2nd detached garage. It has 2 windows, a door and a Garage door. I'm pretty sure I am going to seal off the garage door. It has some wiring and possibly some plumbing, not 100% on what works.

    Dimensions
    Width - 17' 1"
    Length 27'
    Height 9'

    Any thoughts? Thank you!

I think as long as you can dedicate the space, make sure it's secure and maintain proper temps and humidity that will be a pretty awesome room!

Yes it should be awesome, anyone that has built there own that has some suggestions or something they wish they did different? What type of insulation is good that type of thing. Flooring is concrete, should I put something on that?

I haven't built mine yet but have a layout design. I know the key to success is ventilation for your rodent room. I would build a separate room where the windows are for ventilation.

Pics when you are done for sure..

Do you live somewhere where winter weather will be cold and maintaining proper temps will be challenging?

If possible, I'd isolate the rodents from the reptiles... You need a lot of ventillation for rodents and it is more important to insulate the reptile room. Could you use studs and dry wall to wall in an area by the windows for the rodent room?
