    Frozen feeder mice and rats
Hello, a local ace hardware has a bunch of frozen mice and rats and unbelievable prices. (Like $4 for five mice good). Only thing is that they don't have dates on the mice and no one there could give me a good answer on how long they've been frozen. My question is how long can they stay frozen for and how can I check to see if they are still good to feed to my snakes!? Thanks all!

Yeah, this is a weird ace/pet shop hybrid thing. They have fish and rodents and spiders along with tanks and reptile supplies.

If you feel the bag and feel ice crystals I would say no. Ask if you can open one?

They are just in plastic bags. Feel ice crystals? Where/what you mean?

Can you see the mice? The mouse should feel smooth in the bag not all lumpy from ice crystals.

Yes. They are in clear plastic ziplock bags.

Do you see any white spots from freezer burn? If you do I wouldn't get them.

Well both. But I was asking about freezer burn or frost. That indicates the door opening a closing a lot. Which is a slight thaw refreeze.
