How to read temps on back heated rack?

Hey guys,

This is my first rack using back heat, And I am a little confused on how to set / check the temps.

I have a temp gun, do I set the temp so the back wall reads 92 on the gun? Or set it so it may be higher on the wall but 92 on the floor?

Any help it greatly appreciated!!
