I think i got BURNED!

I had a guy message me about my 2 geckos for sale...said he was interested. He told me he was about to go out of town for a few days and was wondering if i could send them to him before he leaves. I was in a tough spot and wasn't going to be able to feed them for a few days...so i figured i'd go ahead and send them. He said he was going to send me $$ via PayPal ASAP...and, that was over a week ago. He no longer responds to my e-mails...and i'm out over $200. Can't trust any one these days.

Is $200 worth getting police involved? i mean...I sent them to North Carolina. what can be done ?

you're in a tough spot with shipping first. i guess you know that though. if you have a copy of the emails stating that he agreed to pay you and a copy from the shipper stating that the package arrived and was signed for, you have a case. but i don't know how much trouble it would be to collect. do you know the fauna site or the BOI? that might be a place to start. just curious where in nc is this person?

I'd say definitely get the police involved, so the bastard doesn't do it again.

Wow, I'm sorry Nate! That really really sucks! I would get the police involved..$200 bucks might not seem like alot, but its still money that you are suposed to have..

yeah i sent it to a street address.

He e-mailed me back and told me they had arrived and everything was fine. none of them were DOA or anything. I could be over reacting..he could be on vacation and have someone else taking care of them. But then again, if he comes back from his little trip to discover one is dead, he could say "well one of them died...i'm not paying you"
