    Hides inside of a rack?
I'm pretty new to a rack system. Before when I had ball pythons I had them in cages (15+ years ago) and I had 2 hides in each cage. Now that I am using a rack system (homemade) I am curious do I need to provide hides? The substrate I am using is white packing paper and I have found one of my snakes under the paper a few times. Is this an indication that he needs a hide or two? I also just picked up an adult female pastel from a breeder a few weeks ago, and she seems to be doing just fine without a hide, should I provide one for her as well?

    thanks.

I offer one hide with the water bowl up front. Usually I find that the snake "turtles" the hide onto and off of the heat as needed.

One hide and one bowl is how I house them.

It's better to provide a hide and it not being used and removed later on then not providing one and having issues.
